Once you receive your letter, please report to your America Works at the stated date and time.
When you report to America Works, remember to bring the following:
- Your Social Security Card
- Your Alien Work Permit or Green Card
- Your NYS Drivers License or NYS Identification Card (ID), or your Passport or Birth Certificate
- Resume (If possible)
Please call your local America Works office found under the locations tab on the top menu. Each office operates this program differently, but when you do come, make sure to bring the following:
- Social Security Card
- A government issued photo ID
- Your resume (if you have one)
We currently have HVRP programs in our New York, Chicago, and Washington DC offices. Contact the office nearest you or drop in with a copy of your DD-214 during normal business hours to speak with a representative.
Generally, clients will be in our job readiness program and seeking employment for about 4 weeks. After getting a job, clients will receive support in maintaining it and in completing job training programs for 6 months.
Though this is typical, it is not a guarantee. In order for America Works to help you, we need your full effort. Together, we can help you change your life.
Interviews can be set up at any time, so dress ready to go on an interview. Your appearance is your first impression and it can help or hurt your job search.
